CANDY DAY

Please note the dates for  our annual Candy Days  Collection are Oct 17 & 18. This is an important project for all Illinois Lion's Clubs and the Illinois Foundation. Since we won't have a meeting before that weekend, you will be getting a call from the committee to set a time for you to help. We need to have a good response for workers.

DATE CHANGE

Our October meeting will be on the 3rd Monday, Oct 20, as usual: and starting in November, our regular meetings will be held the first Monday, Nov 3, at Concordia church Please note this change on your calendar.

President's Corner

Hi all. Once again I am running  behind on words for the Newsletter, so when it comes out late, you know who to blame. I'd like to say thanks to all the people who helped out on our sale with Vern Mariman: Pat Koehler, Sandy Griffin, Keith Himmelman. Pete Chodera, and Roger Wildermuth. It was a small auction, but the people there seemed to be hungary and thirsty, so we may have done fairly well.

We may have a problem with Candy Days this month. Apparently another organization here in Geneseo has cornered the first 2 weekends for their donation collection efforts, so we may have to go to the third weekend of October. It really doesn't seem practical to do our thing at the same time as the other organization is out collecting, just because people don't like to be hit up multiple times on the same day and in a lot of cases they just say "I gave at _______ just an hour ago" More to follow.

Other than that, I think everyone has heard that we plan to go to the first Monday of every Month as our meeting date with a separate Board Meeting, to which everyone is invited, to be held immediately after. We may have some cleanup details to deal with regarding this change, but as things stand right now, that is the plan.
