Many thanks to those who helped and served the lunch. Also thank you to the staff of Hillcrest that participated.

President's CornerAs usual, I am running behind on getting some words prepared for our newsletter. First, I would like to mention that we need to keep those in the club who are ill in our prayers. and thoughts and to offer assistance whenever we can. On a brighter note, we had a good auction with the lunch wagon a couple of weeks ago. I think we brought in very nearly $800 (the MONEY MAIDEN,Pat Koehler) will tell us exactly. I've gotten several e-mails and letters from various officials in the Lions Hierarchy in the past 2 weeks asking for dates when they can visit our club and do presentations on their particular areas of responsibility, so we'll try to accommodate them in the near future. At our next meeting Sept 15 at concordia we will be discussing a proposal to change our monthly meetings to some date other than the 3rd Monday. This was proposed as we have a couple of members who have problems making the meeting on the 3rd Monday. What we need to decide (assuming that the church ladies are willing to change dates, which Sandy is checking,)is if moving our meeting date would be beneficial for everyone or if a move would hurt some others ability to attend meetings. Other than that, I hope everyone's summer is going well and that we all can be able to help out with the upcoming Club Activities, to include Candy Day coming up in October. Oh one more thing--thanks to Sandy for setting up our last meeting at the Glory Days restaurant on such short notice. We had good attendance and the sandwiches and appetizers were great!! Jim
