Presidents's Corner

We had a very nice Installation of officers  with District Governor Jim McCarter conducting the ceremony and speaking  to us. The meal was good, service was excellent and thanks again to Sandy for setting it up! I think I am supposed to establish the Committees for this year,so if any of you have any preferences, please let me know. I'm not planning to get too creative. so if the committees look pretty similar to last year, don't be too surprised. We are going to need to do another road clean-up here in the coming month, so if you can help, please let Lynn Misfeldt know and he'll get it scheduled. Don't know if this newsletter will get out in time via e-mail, but the city is asking help in cleaning up Oakwood  Cemetery between 7AM and 4PM Saturday, Aug 2nd. You can come and go as your schedule dictates. If you can help. call the city clerk, Tracy Kotecki at 944-6419. Please give her your name, names of other volunteers you will bring, how many chainsaws, and times available. We're planning to have a family picnic meeting on August 18th, details haven't been finalized yet so we will be contacting everyone with details later.

On another topic, I would appreciate a phone call or e-mail any time we have a Lion's member or immediate family with a serious illness, death in the family, or any other major problem that we can help with or at least offer  sympthy/condolences. We need to watch out for each other and provide whatever assistance we can.

Lastly, we can at least be thankful that no one was hurt during the storm last Monday, but I know several Lions who had property damage to one extent or another. My money is on Jim & Linda as the members with the most damage.

Nursing Home Fishing Party

Residents of Hillcrest Home will be at Giant Goose at 9 Am ready to fish. They will bring their own poles and bait. We will serve a picnic lunch at noon. Pete Chodera and Keith Himmelman are chairmen and will need volunteers to help with fishing and also to serve the meal. Contact Keith at 945-1365 or Pete at 944-4565. This is a very worthwhile project and is enjoyed by all. Please help.

DUES ARE DUE!!!

Please make check payable to The Geneseo  Lion's Club  and mail or give to Pat Koehler or Lynn Misfeldt. Addresses can be found at the following link: Click Here
