SCHOLARSHIPS

The two $1000. Lions scholarships were awarded to Kelly Lawrence and Tony DePauw. Congratulations graduates! 

FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND

As you can see from the calendar, this is going to be a very busy weekend for the Lions. This year for the first time, the band will be playing in downtown Geneseo instead of the city park. Your Lions club will be selling sandwiches, drinks and funnel cakes at the intersection of First Street and State Street from 6to 10PM. Saturday we will switch to the City Park and resume operations from 10AM to 5PM. Sunday will find us additionally organizing the annual Father’s Day Parade.

NEW PURCHASE

Since our current funnel cake fryer requires a 220 volt 50amp source of power, the club decided to buy a new propane fired fryer which will allow us to participate in almost any venue.

CELEBRITY 

We have a celebrity in our midst. It has been noted that Lion Sandy Griffin shot a “hole in one” on May 13 at the Geneseo Country Club. WAY TO GO SANDY !!

LIONS HEARING SCREENING 

The Lions of Illinois hearing van will be providing  a free screening to all who want it from 9Am to noon in the southwest area of the Jewel parking lot. Set up time is 8:45 AM. Contact Lion Bill Dial (944 3000) to help. 

PRESIDENTS CORNER

HELP---HELP---HELP  June is here,and so are the summer activities. First comes the Ice Cream Social.WE NEED YOUR PIES AND CAKES!! Please have them at the Park on June 12th by 5 or 5:30PM if possible.This will be your chance to make a real big effort. It will be the Geneseo High School Band performing and we expect a big crowd.We need everyone to help.  Then comes the Father's Day Parade.Your help is needed there also.There are many jobs,please volunteer for a couple of them. Our Installation of Officers Meeting is scheduled for July 16th at concordia Church.Please make plans to attend.Your help is needed to make our summer activities a success. Thank you for a great year of serving.
